George Family Foundation believes it is important to support the Twin Cities community which gave us so much and where we feel close to our neighbors and others who make their home here. Using the same principles applied to other focus areas, we have seen how when people come together to help others, their lives are fuller and more whole in mind, body and spirit. We look for programs and organizations that are making a difference in building community. In addition, we give nationally when our principles are met.

A few examples of our grants in this focus area include:

  • Guthrie Theater, to support the Joe Dowling Guthrie Theater Innovation fund.
  • Somali Success School, to support general operations.
  • Youth Farm and Market Project, to support urban agriculture, youth organizing and cultural nutrition programs.
