Penny George named as a Frederick High School Distinguished Alumnae
On October 6, Penny George was honored as a 2014 Fredrick High School Alumnae (Maryland). Each year nominations are sought from FHS alumni friends, families and community members to recognize those who are renowned in or have made a unique contribution regionally, nationally and/or internationally in the following categories: Arts/Humanities, Business/Industry, Community Service, Education, Public Service, Recreation/Athletics or Special Recognition. Distinguished Alumni are selected from Frederick High School from 1891 to the present. The FHS Distinguished Alumni Selection Committee chooses no more than seven candidates each year to be inducted.
Penny was selected for her national leadership and service to the Integrative Health and Healing field and for her work as the President of the George Family Foundation. She was honored along with six other FHS alumni during a ceremony at the High School. In addition to the ceremony on October 6, the names of all seven 2014 honorees will be placed on the FHS Distinguished Alumni Wall located at the front entrance to the school.
