Being authentic is crucial, especially in leadership and human interaction. Unfortunately, sometimes, we choose to hide our true selves to achieve a specific outcome. We wear a mask and try to impress others by working the room.

You might have heard the phrase "fake it till you make it." However, this approach leads to short-term gains. It can have severe consequences that damage your reputation and relationships.

It’s an exciting sign of meaningful progress that the idea and philosophy of authentic leadership has become so understood and ubiquitous. Increasingly, it seems, the value is becoming so accepted that it’s not always capital-letters, in-quotes “Authentic Leadership,” with an explanation of what that is and who has written about it. More and more, it is simply and elegantly… authentic leadership. We know what that means intuitively, and it resonates.
