The FACE of Wellbeing

YMCA of the North’s George Wellbeing visionary plan is a progressive leap evolving our current physical activity model to a whole-person approach,” says Sally St. John. This transformative approach centers around five essential pillars of wellbeing: Connect, Nourish, Move, Reflect, and Restore. Each pillar offers programming that is accessible digitally and in-person, creating a comprehensive wellbeing experience. The Y now offers acupuncture, massage therapy, mindfulness, sound bath healing, gardening, cooking classes, and wellbeing workshops. Penny George adds, “This initiative is extraordinary. It empowers people to take charge of their own health, and it expands access to whole-person health and wellbeing for all people, wherever they are.” The YMCA is committed to amplifying integrative care capacities, reimagining fitness centers as holistic wellbeing hubs. Michelle Edgerton explains, “Seamlessly, we’re crafting digital avenues for virtual consultations and partnering with community organizations to dissolve health disparities, underlining our dedication to an inclusive wellbeing revolution.
